I spent the last week of June 2012 working as the production sound mixer on BURIED TREASURE — a new short film from Actor-Director Leslie Hope (24, The River) and Actor-Writer-Producer Jeff Galfer (The River). I worked with Leslie previously as the production sound mixer on her award-winning short film GAYKEITH.
I don’t usually post about short films that I work on here on my website, but this was a particularly special shoot. We had an unbelievable cast and crew, that included several people who worked with Leslie and Jeff on ABC’s acclaimed TV series The River, including multiple Emmy and Academy Award-winning or nominated folks on the crew.
However, even more important than the renown of many of those involved was the fact that this was a truly special and enjoyable shoot to work on, with everyone donating time to help Jeff Galfer (who wrote the script and stars in the film) bring this deeply personal story to life. A tight-knit little family of a crew was created in just one week, and it was the type of production experience that manages to perfectly congeal all too seldom.
I look forward to seeing (and hearing) the finished product in the coming months.
